can anyone identify this band?

Background: my college alumni magazine posted a photo gallery of bands and musicians who had played in a venue at school that is about to be torn down. They posted this photo as "The Band" and it is obviously not The Band. I'm pretty sure the guy playing the mandolin is Chris Hillman, formerly of The Byrds, which would make this group either the Flying Burrito Bros or the Souther-Hillman-Furay Band. Time of photo is the mid-to-late 70s.

Anyone know or can confirm who this is?

Well, it’s definitely Chris Hillman, first on mandolin, then on a Telecaster guitar in the lower photo; in that particular pic there is some sort of Music Man amp/cab in the back line, so that could help narrow down the year(plus it just has a more mid/late-70’s vibe than early). Just a guess—Jerry Donahue on the LP, Rick Roberts on acoustic? Before Firefall, RR was in a post-Graham Burrito Brothers line-up. That guy to the left of the mando pic—I have no idea.

Well, if they had bothered to get a photo of the bass player I'm sure we would have this figured out in no time. Plus identified all parts of his rig, type of strings used, and the best bass for metal. But as always, no one cares about the bass.

I saw the LRB a couple of times - their bass player was really good. His licks were solid and his tone was fantastic. The guitar players were okay, but their tone was way too bright. They were painful to listen to.
