Can Anyone Sell Me A 33" Scale Bass?

Have been wanting a 33" scale 4er with a 41-43mm P bass nut width. Never got the luck to come across one, don't wanna go for a custom one either cuz I might end up not liking it.

If anyone has a bass that checks the boxes pls let me know thanks.

I've been in this business a long time, and I don't believe I've ever seen or heard of a 33" scale bass. Production or custom. I built custom necks for about 20 years, and I have a rack full of special scale length rulers for my slotting saw. Nobody ever asked for a 33".

I don't know why, it certainly could be done and would work. Why do you particularly want that size?

I believe Rickenbacker long scale basses are 33.25". Close enough

IIRC, Rickenbacker uses a 33.25" scale.

33" is a great scale. Very easy to get around on, without the major feel difference with a 32" when you are used to 34"scale
Mine was custom ordered and I am glad I did. Also I have the 33" 5-string e-c Ibanez bass. BTB845V it's called.

There are lots of 33" scale basses, I've seen them custom made from Muckelroy, Stambaugh, F bass, Sugi, etc. There is one on Reverb right now if you search 33 scale in the bass section.

Anyway, I just googled "33 inch scale bass" and grabbed some. There were plenty of links. I'm sure you can find something that tickles your tootsies.

Have you considered looking at 34” scale or 32”? Asking because you said you don’t want custom and that you’re afraid you won’t like it. So not reinventing the wheel is a pretty solid move.

Custom Overwater. It is super lightweight - weighing in at a mere 7.6 lbs. I think the black and maple looks stunning and it sounds even better than it looks. The electronics are an active 3 band EQ and the controls are as follows from top to bottom: 1) Stacked - Volume (top), pick-up Blend (lower) 2) Stacked - Treble (top), Bass (lower) - cut and boost/center ‘flat' 3) Stacked - Mid control; Lower - frequency sweep, top cut and boost 4) Passive tone/treble roll off. The neck is maple and I requested it to be thin from front to back - 21 mm depth at 1st fret and 24mm at the 15th. Not only is the 33” scale neck profile slim, but it also has 1.45" nut width and 16.5mm bridge spacing. Body is reduced size precision shape - lightweight swamp ash and it comes equip with Overwater Noiseless pickups. Black hardware, Neutrik Locking jack, b/w/b pickguard.

I had a Rickenbacker for a couple years before I realized it wasn't the same scale as everyone else. 33.25" - You can probably set it to exactly 33", if you insist. The intonation might suffer a bit. If you put flats on it and never go above the 5th fret, you probably won't notice.

Ibanez makes a BTB model that is 33 inch scale. The BTB845V - but it has 5 strings. They have made other 33 inch, 5 string BTBs in the past. They are usually setup and strung as E to C (C above G).
