I "retired" a fretless Honer stick bass some years ago. My little boy had found a Junior hacksaw. There is a 1/4 inch notch in the fretboard. Is there a resin that I can use as a filler?

Ebanol can't be repaired.
It can only be conteracted by Ivorol.

yeah.... er ..... I was kidding. If you're just going to burn it, why use an expensive and threatened species? Pretty sure any cheap wood will turn black when burnt.
Well, it ain't a bad idea, using another wood. I made my own charcoal for an "ancient tools" art class when I was a kid.
