Can I wire the pickups straingt to the output on a Old Kay Bass anyone ever tried to do this It don't seem to put out right I replaced all the pickups and the pots didn't seem to help used a wiring diaghram for a P Bass the second time. It help a little. First time tried to wire the same as orginial.

If you're asking if you can wire the pickups to the output without any knobs, switches or accessories, the answer is yes.

Yes that is what I was wanting to do what will it do to the sound of the bass. will it make it louder or what.

It won't make it louder IMO, but the idea is that as you add more controls in the signal chain (volume, tone etc) you lose some of your signal. So, wiring straight to the jack will give you the purest signal available.
