Well, here's the thing; 1) this has come up before a little while ago; also with an SR500E, coincidentally. According to a frequent poster here, whose point of view and knowledge I respect, while high end Ibanez'
do use Elixers, according to the catalog the 500 series does not; they come from the factory with brass-ball ended D'Addarios. And, 2) I am sitting here looking at my Eastwood Magnum bass as I type this. I've never gotten around to changing the factory strings (or, sadly, playing it much, either), but Eastwood says quite clearly and up-front that it comes from the factory with 45-105
D'Addarios; and guess what?
They have plain brass ball-ends. So, yes, if they are the factory strings, they are most likely D'Addarios. And if the Rickenbacker Light Nickel Rounds on my 4003 are made by D'Addario (and they
are a supplier for Rickenbacker strings), those have brass ball ends, too.
