Can I run a GB Shuttle without cabinet?

Hi all, I occasionally gig at a venue that doesn't allow any amps at all. Everyone plugs into the board and uses IEMs. I bought a Tech 21 Bass Fly Rig (I'd been eyeing them anyway). It sounds great most of the time, but I miss the gentle roll into saturation when I really dig in. Would it hurt my amp if I plugged it into the board via the XLR direct out, without driving a cabinet? So basically I'd be using it as a preamp only. My amp is a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0. Are there better options?

I used to run a Streamliner as a pre/di a lot, will not hurt it.

They do so Very nicely too! I believe you need to switch the DI to "Post EQ" also.

No, the DI is an entirely different signal path from the headphone output.
