since the TB app was discontinued, I've been using the downloaded link on my iPhone but I have to log in every time I open it. Is there a setting somewhere that will log me in when I tap the link?

Absolutely you can... I've stayed logged in for weeks on my iphone. You'll have to make sure that cookies are enabled, and that you're not using private browsing for Safari or Chrome. If TB can't save a cookie on your phone, it can't keep you logged in...
