Can I swear on Talkbass?

While I do indeed feel that the rules of this forum are restricting my ability to communicate naturally and sincerely there seem to be no real alternatives if you want to communicate with a large crowd of people who shares bass as their passion, and since I, when all comes to all, prefer to do so in a crippled way rather than not being able to do so at all, I tolerate the suppressing rules of this forum and feel myself forced to live under them as long as I want this privilege.

I just think it's a real shame.
I'm sorry this is so difficult for you. On the bright side, perhaps with these severe constraints you'll learn to communicate in public.

Why is this thread still open?

Bottom Line: No, you cannot swear on TalkBass- it's against the rules. Anything you post most be completely masked by asterisks or !@#$% characters. Anything other than that if against the rules and subject to disciplinary action. It's not a free speech issue, TalkBass is a private entity and choose whether it wants to allow profanity or not.

If you don't like it or find that you're unable to converse without profanity, there are plenty of other forums.
