Can I swear on Talkbass?

I'm not following you here. You say munchkins can't play standup bass because of their height, but they could have played electric bass if it had been invented by that time? Why couldn't the Wizard just give them an electric bass?

For the same reason he didn't give the Tin Man a baboon heart and a pacemaker.

For the record, I used to play with a very good classical bassist, an elderly woman who was probably no taller than Danny DeVito. She played a wonderful 1/2 sized bass. (Most of us play 3/4 these days, although I think a full-size would be really cool.) So I can picture the bigger munchkins doing that, but unfortunately the smallest people in real life have trouble with manual dexterity/strength. Not that it's impossible as we've all seen amazing musicians that have no arms and stuff.

Back to the fictional munchkins, why does this topic remind me of Bullroarer Took, the hobbit that was so large he could ride a horse into battle?

The mods will get ya so fast that it'll make your head spin................you'll get a "black mark" warning that'll be in effect for 6 months. Someone will report you to a mod also.

Get too many warnings and you'll get barred from TB.

I got busted about one month ago for posting a photo of Beyonce at the super bowl or somewhere with revealing pants and I used the words............hi*d e*d which is not even a dirty word. I was given a "warning mark".

I keep my mouth shut now and just look at the classified ads.

This posting is an exception for me.

Best keep it clean, mate!

Or is this wrong?
Sure, you can swear: Repeat after me:

I <your name here> swear that I will become adept at expressing myself in a public forum which may be read by small children without resorting to crude anglo-saxon expressions generally frowned upon in what is referred to as "polite company" even if I am "authentically" a crude anglo-saxon [insert compound term indicating that a generative part of you returns to the place you came from, repeatedly] and feel utterly fake pretending I can be polite and/or civilized.

Swear words will get changed into children language or cause aggravated people, cause apparently the first amendment, contrary common believes, is not in effect when dealing with certain common words that has been deemed mentally unsafe and unhealthy to look at as well as certain topics affecting certain aspects of life is not deemed mentally clean either.

Abide the rules or be cast out of this society only suited for the mentally clean without sin.

In other words, it is better to be fake and restrained in your speech than not being allowed to talk at all.

:rollno:
You apparently have little idea of what the first ammendment is all about.

I am not an American, may *biip* have mercy on my unfortunate soul.

It appears to be freedom of speech and religion, but I am sure there are some underlying ulterior motives behind it, if I am allowed to say that without getting too political.

What you are failing to appreciate is that the first amendment limits how the government can control speech, religion, etc. It has absolutely no bearing on what rules a private entity can establish.

If you feel that TB's rules are restricting your ability to communicate and sucking your soul, you should probably look elsewhere.

While I do indeed feel that the rules of this forum are restricting my ability to communicate naturally and sincerely there seem to be no real alternatives if you want to communicate with a large crowd of people who shares bass as their passion, and since I, when all comes to all, prefer to do so in a crippled way rather than not being able to do so at all, I tolerate the suppressing rules of this forum and feel myself forced to live under them as long as I want this privilege.

I just think it's a real shame.
