Can someone explain "Sweepable Mids"?

The title says it all. I'm not very familiar with active bass terminology, and the glossary in the sticky doesn't cover this.

I just bought a Peavey Cirrus (from TBer dancedad5678), and see that a popular mod is putting in a Millennium preamp because it has "sweepable mids".

What is this, and how is it different from the mid knob on the existing Cirrus layout?

the existing mid knobs is set to cut/boost at a set frequency. With sweepable mids, you can change the affected frequency. One example would be to boost 400hz to cut through, and cut 700-800hz for slap. Some other basses with three band preamps don't have a mid sweep knob but to have freq select switches to select three frequencies so you can move between them easily.
