Can this be fixed - Noisy touch sensitive MFD G&L humbuckers ?? Is it microphonic?

I recently installed a couple of new MFD G&L Humbuckers in a project bass. While they sound really good, they are HIGHLY sensitive to touch when in parallel or series modes. Meaning if you touch the pickups while playing, you can hear it. If you use the pickup as a thumb rest you can hear your thumb sliding across the plastic cover. It makes for a LOT of extra noise when playing. I have a couple of older G&L basses with the same pickups and they don't have this problem. Any thoughts or ideas on how to silence the pickup housing so its not sensitive to touch?

I pot MFDs in wax. The covers are thin and QC is not great, so that should fix it.

Wax Potting 100% solved the issue. I watched these two videos and went to Ace hardware, got some parifin wax and went for it. You dip the whole pickup in.. cover and all. When you dip it, the pickup is cold, so the wax will coat the pickup.. you keep it submerged until the temp of the pickup has acclimated to the hot wax and the white looking surface wax has melted. At that point the air bubbles exiting the interior crevices of the pickup will have slowed and the pickup should be completely saturated with liquid wax. Then pull it out and wipe it down. DEAD SILENT PICKUPS NOW!! Thanks again Bowthing!

Excellent info on potting pickups!

Since L.L. Elwood's older G&Ls MFD's pickup are not touch sensitive, does that mean that they are potted but the new ones are not?

Seems strange to me.
