Can you identify this bass?

This mystery bass has no other writing on it besides the serial number 9302 on the back of the head. Maybe 1993 and bass #2? This neck through started life as a fretless. With a small thin body this is very light and is the easiest to play bass I have ever touched. A rumor is that it was built by Tim Hall but I have been unable to find any confirmation about him. Does anybody know?

That’s a 80’s era Wilkinson bridge. Almost looks like a hacked Carvin BB.

I agree with the modified Carvin vibe. Although I'm not close to being certain about it.
The knob layout looks too dopey and inconsistent to be stock.

My first thought was Carvin as well. Back when they sold kits, they also sold complete necks for neck thru builds that a person could buy. Perhaps that is what this is? Someone bought a customized neck from Carvin and built their own bass around that?

I don't remember Carvin selling neck through kits. I do remember the bolt-ons though. O P bass looks great. I would guess mid to late 2000's.

Yeah that headstock is certainly a nod to the old Carvin shape, and yes they did offer neck thru.
And if you're already getting a custom neck, the number of frets can be whatever you like.

Nicely constructed for sure, and yeah interesting body contours.

I have a BB75. There's no way it was a BB originally because the lower horn cut goes all the way to the 24th fret plus they have 19 mm string spacing. They did sell neck-thru necks, I have one on a homemade myself. BUT, I don't recall any multi-laminate necks offered.

That's because it originally was fretless and later on a luthier converted it to frets.

That's not a Carvin neck (or hacked body). The center stringer is too wide. The width of the center block is also too wide, and their neck blanks available for sale didn't use figured maple. The rear cavity cover isn't the same shape, either.

Looks like a legit luthier-built instrument to me. Whoever built it did a nice job and used good quality woods.

Body looks like a Peavy Cirrus BXP, but the headstock definitely is not.

I'd say it's a custom Jobber with Peavy as the template.
