Cant decide...

Well my bass said it was tired of playing with my fender rumbler 15 watt, and it wants a stack.

Im looking for something to play at small gigs with this band me and my friends are trying to put together. It might go to medium gigs though. So im wondering what kinda amp i should get, im not to rich so. I have about 300 saved right now, but i can probally get 200 more in the next month definately.
I'm thinking about a hartke or peavey. or maybe ampeg.

And well im so confused about all the amps out there i was wondering if someone could narrow a few good options for me?

Yeah, go out to music stores and play some amps, then buy one that's in your price range that you like. If one's out of your price range, try to find it used. You don't need a lot of amp, really. A 200-300w amp and a speaker cab that can handle the wattage is all you need to play out.

i just bought a used hartke HA5500 head for 420, I am very pleased with it.
you may be able to get a used HA 3500 for around 300 dollars, then you can work on a cab from there. If you like hartke, then their value is a big plus. GK is also a very good bang for the buck as always.

go with used gear... just make sure you try it out before you buy it. Most of us arent made of money either. used stuff is your friend.

500 bucks on the used amp market will make you a high roller indeed. Take your
time and look around as you can easily score a good head and a cab in that price
range. You can find lots of used Peavey stuff and recently I've seen a used Ampeg
B-2R head with the SVTE-15 cab go for $450 for both and it was the U.S. made stuff
so lots of deals abound.

im plannin on going to guitar center next weekend, or another local one thats just as big. I just wanted to get an idea before going there so im not just like lemme try every bass amp you have over 200w, which would take awhile.

Anyway thx for the opinions!
