Capable speakers??

my band has a behringer pmp3000 powered mixer, and we're in need of new PA's (2) to go along with it. it puts out 300w@8 ohms each side or 600w@4 ohms each side. this speaker's power handling confuses me, which is the real handling??-

"Power Handling: 150 Watts (E.I.A. RS-426), 300 Watts (Program), 600 Watts (Peak)" (all at 8 ohms)

i know the peak is not the number to look for but which of the other two is a reliable number, so much that i won't blow the speakers if we use the mixer at almost full strength 24/7?? if they aren't compatible, can you tell me what would be?? (on a budget but i can stretch it...)

Thanks, Ryan

your correct on the mixer output. typo. alright so basically these speakers were not recommended by any fellow tb'ers. i liked them though, especially at the extremely low price they were at. one speaker blew, and i got ripped off through the warranty, they led me in circles for months. i'm considering buying another one to replace it because i was satisfied, but are there any choices that would be better? (preferably under $200-$250 each). also, why doesnt anyone make 4 ohm speakers, and is there a way to take advantage of the higher power rating for 4 ohms short of multiple speakers?? any help is appreciated
Thanks-Ryan

not as interested as i thought i was in different speakers currently, after thinking about it. my only question is, if i purchase this same speaker again, will it have a good chance of blowing?? i use the mixer at about 75 percent pretty consistently, largely for vocals and ipod connection

At almost full power 24/7, it's probably putting out quite a bit of distortion and there's no headroom for peaks. That's probably what blew the speakers.

What's your budget for new speakers?

As far as the warranty for your current speakers, you might want to contact whom ever you bought them from and let them know about your situation. Maybe they can call their rep and help get it taken care of for you or at least get the name of someone higher up in the company for you to contact.

Why would you buy the same speaker cab again after it blew and not getting warranty service? Why wouldn't you be interested in different speakers?

I'm not following your logic. Seems like you'll end up in the same place. Deja Vu all over again.

What is the name/model number of your current speakers? Please post more details.

no one hear approves of the speakers, but they're Squier SQ15's. and im wondering whether replacing with that raw driver would work. the other PA is doing PERFECTLY, which is why id even bother with the same brand again. and the warranty stuff is a whole 'nother story...not manufacturer. i tried and talked to multiple MULTIPLE people...basically i will never purchase through guitarcenter online ever ever ever again.
Thanks, Ryan
