I was doing a little bit of practicing when I had to go take care of a problem. I left the music room and took care of the chore. I forgot I had left my amp on. It stayed on for 24 hrs. Before I remembered it. What kind of damage can I expect for being so careless?

Tube or solid state? Head or combo?
If it was solid state, probably nothing but a slightly higher electric bill.
Leaving a tube amp on will lower the life of your tubes.

Seriously though, I did this with my amp one night. Fell asleep after practicing a few new songs and didn't notice...and the amp was two or three feet away!

Hmm, that isn't so bad.
I'm curious. Is this actually true? I didn't think that a solid state amp that wasn't passing any signal would have a dead draw, but now I'm not so sure.
On more than one occasion I have accidentally left my Carvin MB10 combo (essentially an MX250 head) on standby for days at a time... no harm done!
Check on the carrots. If they're okay, you're okay!
You have only done that once?!? Happens to me all time. Fortunately I don't have active basses or my battery bill would be yuge!
