Carl Martin Classic Opto Compressor, power supply noise issue

Hi Folks,
after reading almost all the Bongomania comp reviews (thank you man great job!) I have just purchased a brand new (squared box) carl martin opto comp.
I've just started dialing with it and I'm liking how it works, the only problem is the noise it gets out when used through the power supply, while no noise while using it through 9v battery.
Do I have to return it to the shop or this is a possible issue on this cheap chinese line and it can be eluded in any simple way? (I'm not an electronic geek...:scowl

Did the power supply come with the pedal? Or if not, what kind of power supply are you using?

i'm using it through a the Behringer PSU-HSB-ALL, brand new. No noise with the other pedals of the chain (dod fx25+carl martin opto comp+tech21 blonde+ehx lpb 2ube).
with the opto comp out, no noise with the other pedals neither joined or used one by one, while noise all the way with opto comp alone or joined to the chain.

I had the same issue with the behringer psu.
The noise is not from the pedal

So just to be clear, the Opto is noisy even if there are no other pedals connected to the power supply?

yes if plugged in on that dc adpter it is always noisy alone or chained

Can you borrow a different (better quality) adapter, to test with?

yes, you both are right! As changed the power supply and the noise is gone.
I'll return the berhinger power supply!!
just curious: does the power supply is very noisy or the carl martin OC is very sensitive on this?
Or all the compressors are very sensitive on power supply noises?

I think it was just a bad power supply, but some effects (any kind) are more sensitive to noisy power.
