I don't know if these books are still available but I'd check ebay for copies if they aren't. Monster basslines and great reading excercises in a style(boogaloo
) that's still important today. Hicky-burr is in one of these books which is the famous title song from the first Bill Cosby show( from the 70s ?)Carol played the bass. Quincy Jones did the music. Quincy's been brilliant for a good long time. Bill's vocal performance about as improvisational as any jazz musician I know. Totally killer.
