I wouldn't support the bass on the neck just above the heel that way. Much better to support it on the back just below the heel of the neck.

I can verify that my bass fits well in a Chevy bolt EV. I’ll try to get some photos. I love this car; it costs almost nothing in ‘fuel’, very comfortable and smooth to drive, and it was not expensive with the tax breaks, well under $30K new. I can easily fit my bass, stool, stand, amp, and another passenger.

I am currently getting mine in a 2021 Chevy Spark. Pretty small but it fits and still room for one passenger. Goodbye to bringing drummers to the gigs haha!

I'm torn between getting a 16-22 Prius or a 2nd Gen Volt. I was surprised to see that my bass fits on it's side in a base '22 Prius L. I've never been able to fit my bass in a Prius without laying it down! I'm going to try stuffing my bass into a Volt tomorrow. Anyone have one of these?

Any chance you can lay the front seat back all the way and have the scroll down in the footwell? This usually gives decent support to the upper back and neck block on your passenter seat, or you can add a cushion under it. That's how I did it back in my Ford Escort and Toyota Corolla days.

My days of doing that are now officially retired! I had a Ford Focus sedan when I lived in NYC and am hatchback only these days.

Do you load the DB from the back? Or are you putting it in the front seat?

I slide it in through the rear hatchback with the neck between the 2 front seats. My Leaf is a 2012 and has a sort of "well" in the back, so i keep a large pillow there for the bass to rest on.

I don't have a case or cover yet but I'm aiming to get one. Transporting: find one of the smallest U.S. cars you can find and stuff it in head first through the rear passenger door. Had a pillow and some thick towels to rest back of the bass on so the scroll would not touch the car floor. Had room for a passenger in the back seat, a couple of combo amps, a guitar, etc.
