Well, I have an XB75P on order now... Ordered it on October 27, and it's scheduled for completion on December 15. Not quite 8 weeks... AND according to some of the posts on the Carvin forums page at carvin.com some other folks have received their basses recently as much as 3 weeks before the scheduled completion date!! Of course, the delivery date can change because of unforseen circumstance, or heavy production schedule. So your best bet, as Vinxbass said, is to ask Carvin. )

not to hijack this thread, but do their amps take X amount of time to manufacture as well, or are they more immediate?

Well.... when I ordered my Carvin SB60 bass in '75, it was not UPS'd to me until 3 months had passed if memory serves me well.. However, that was then and built at the original factory.. perhaps the build time will be much shorter these days.

Immediate almost all the time for amps.

As far as basses, the build time varies with what you order and how busy they are at the time. Also, if they find any flaws along the way, they will fix them or rebuild, which can take a while, but is worth it. 6-12 weeks is the typical range of of build times that I've seen.

They told me 4 weeks, then 6, then 7, 8, 9 ..............deal with one person, who ever takes your order, insist on that person each time you call. The quality was outstanding, but the run around was rediculess.

I'm not asking how long its taking to complete and have my bass shipped to me. I already have a rough idea when I'll be getting mine. I wanted to know specifically what I asked. How long it took for other Carvin owners to get their basses.

I think it was about 2 months or so. All the standard options they offer pretty much make every bass a custom.

I think the lead time all depends on how many basses they are building ahead of yours. In this economy, it wouldn't surprise me if no one is ordering new equipment. Could take 2 weeks.

I bought mine in '97...but if I can recall, it was about 6 weeks...

I also bought one of those combo amps the 600W with 2x10, 1x15 and a redeye tweeter...nice amp, but I sold it as I thought I could pick up an amp here in aus instead of paying shipping ... I didn't know...

my LB 70 ,I BOUGHT OFf THE "in stock" page , and it was shipped as quick as the shippers could get it here.. (WAS PERFECT TOO "FLAWLESS") I JUST KEPT LOGGIN IN EVERY FEW DAYS AND EVENTUALLY THEY HAD ONE very similar to what I was gonna have them build .

Back in the day I had 2 custom "guitars" built and yea 8 weeks on both.
