Carvin c2444 mixer

Any thought, comments, etc. on Carvin C2444 mixers?

My band is in need of mixer, as our current one is slowly going to the proverbial "he!!" (faders going out, channels going bad, etc....basically just going south after many, many years of service).

I found a Carvin C2444 for $400 in a flight case (unsure of case make). We'd like to have one with more than 4 aux sends, but my drummer and I have got along for 2 years sharing our monitor mixes, so 4 would be sufficient.

Any thoughts?

My band used the 16 channel version for several years, before "upgrading" to Mackie SR24.4 for a few extra channels. The previous poster was correct, it seems the Carvin didn't quite have as much output gain overall as the Mackie, so it got run a little higher on the master to achieve the same output. This was never really a problem, so I have no problem suggesting their mixers to others.
