Folks, this is one of my best-playing and best-sounding basses. It looks pretty sweet, too! I just think I'm a 4-string guy, much as I'd like to try to go five. So, I'm looking for a trade for a nice 4-string Fretless bass, preferably unlined. One with a hipshot D-tuner would have extra appeal, so I can get to SOME extended-range notes, when necessary.

It's an early-2000s Carvin LB75F, unlined, with the humbucking bridge pickup. Active/passive switch on the volume, 3-band EQ, blend pot, coil tap switch. Lots of growl. No dings, only surface scuffs from normal wear... it has been babied, but played. It does have some minor roundwound marking on its ebony fingerboard, but it's not noticeable with strings on it, and there is no effect on playability. Plays awesome, in fact. I have used flats on it only. I paid $600 for it, and added a sweet leather strap with Celtic marks (included, since it matches so nicely) and very pricey TI flats, so the trade value is more like $700 (unless you let me keep the TIs!) Also comes with a Carvin hardshell case in pretty good shape (one foot pushed in, interior strap disconnected - otherwise, fine.) Cash price (if I don't get a suitable trade) is $650.

String spacing @ bridge = 5/8" (just under 16mm)
Weight - 8 lbs. 15 oz. (accurate postal scale)
Truss rod tool from StewMac (corn cob pipe style) included

In trade, I'm pretty open. I like Fender, Carvin, Warwick. Love Fender-style relic stuff if the neck is solid. Custom stuff also holds appeal, as does vintage Ibanez.

To up the trade value, I might also include the cab I have for sale - a Carvin BRX 2x10 (local deal only.)

I could also include the franken-squier-franklin bass I put together using a Squier PJ body and lined ebanol Squier neck (also pictured.)

The cab and the bass would add $200 each to trade value, I'd say.

What's the string spacing at the bridge? And any idea of the weight?
