Carvin R600

Yeah I definitely get where you're coming from, I'm buying this in a pinch where my old head crapped out on me, and I have multiple shows coming up without much cash to spend. I'm a bit n00bish with bi-amp systems and impedence, so I had to ask a few n00bie questions.

Yeah, for that price, the amp is a great deal, and it'll get you back in the game. Try it single channel and see if you can get the cab to break up. If not, you have the option of getting some more power by bridging. If things are that loud, though, you might want to look around for another 210 eventually.

Have a really great deal on picking up a carvin r600 for only $100, in good working condition. A good friend of mine just wants to get rid of it, and I'm in desperate need.

My only concern is the impedance of the amp, for whatever reason carvin has a lot of options on almost all their amps. I run a SA 2x10 4ohm cabinet, and the carvin has only one option for 4ohm cabinets, under a bridged option. Can I use the bridge function if I'm only using one cabinet? There are two inputs and I'm nervous that it's expecting 2 and i'll screw something up. Thanks!
Just had a customer bring me a R600 for repair, I was trying to contact Carvin, for somewhat different OEM input jacks, to no avail, then it seemed to me on TB a while ago people were saying Carvin is gone. I could not get through, talked to the folks at Keisel, who said, they believe Sam Ash, picked them up? Anyways, that’s my story, in 3 decades of service, that is the only time I tried to order parts for a Carvin product. I would pay $100.00 for the head.

In a nutshell, Carvin shut down their amp and PA operations the end of last year and closed out all their remaining stock.

If SA is a Seismic Audio cab, I would be careful how much power you run into it or you will smoke it like a cheap cigar. I had one of these amps for awhile and I would use the duel channel, non bridged output, for 250 watts at 4 ohm. I have used SA products in the past and they are not very well built and none of them (2x10, 1x15,snake) lasted very long. You got yourself a great deal on a great amp. See if you can find a manuel online because this amp has a lot to offer if you understand how to use it.

As mentioned previously, if you have one 4 ohm cabinet, only one of the two power amps can be used. I have used this head for so many different things. It’s very versatile.I have used one power amp for a bass speaker and the other power amp to power PA speakers at the same time! I have also used it strictly as a power amp. I’m never getting rid of mine.
