Carvin SB5000 / SB4000 Roll Call...Part 7!

You just named all the bass gear brands they carry in only two lines. That does not qualify as "a lot" to me. I really miss Bass Emporium...
+1. There's something to be said for ordering it the way the designer intended it. I recently ordered a Carvin guitar and the only options I picked were stainless steel frets and a sunsetburst finish. No alternate, woods, inlays, 5 piece neck, etc.
How did it come, via email? And how close was that to your postcard date?
I'm currently in the very final stages waiting on mine as well, the postcard said it should be completed on Monday.
By email. It's 2 weeks early, as the completion date was 4/19. But my SB is pretty simple build...natural finish ash body, 1 piece neck.

Here's a clip I made just now of my current SB5001 fretless with DR Sunbeams:

First half of the last clip is both pickups full. Half way through I rolled the volume back on the neck pickup a little and favored the bridge.
Note that I was sitting about 16 inches away from a computer monitor and no buzz with the J99A single coils.
macribas, I added the last line in that clip just for you. It's a bass line from one of my fave Austin bands from the 90's.

My SB5000 order went in a week ago. White, Ash / red-tortoise / rosewood FB. Pretty simple.

Also (and I know this is random), but does anyone know if Kevin is still at Carvin? I was emailing with him before I got laid off, and now that I'm finally getting ready to order, I sent a few questions to him last week at the email address I previously had and haven't heard back yet. He answered all my other emails in a matter of hours.

Thanks. I've since sold the first two basses, just have the third one now. I've never seen any wear on the ones I've had.
