I've got a couple k-subs that I could add for more bottom but, Im not sure how they would work with the carvins 2x10 sub.

My drummer and I always joke about gig pay... we get paid to haul gear and set up, we play for free.
Yeah, us too. Except I pay for all the gear. Based on max spl, each top is a match for one 2x10 sub so, really, I need a second 2x10 for electric gigs and not anymore tops. The power sections woofer output is optimized for 8ohms while the tops are for 4ohms. One option is to build a cab using something like a 3015lf and dropping in the power section. The 2x10's woofers are 4ohms each and wired in series. Probably not really efficient.
Just get a single trx 3010a, without the tops. Like a trc600, but with tens instead of 18s.

How much was the whole system that you have ?
Look at the the back of your sub, it should read "satelite speaker, 1000watts 4 ohm min"
Satellite output is for the tops and is hi passed. While system with cables, poles and padded bag for tops was $2250 plus $100 shipping. Definitely a lot for what it is but, you can't argue with the sound quality.
Right. with a second sub, run one top per sub. Connect the second sub with the "thru".

One of the local bands in the area has one of these systems. I'm not sure about the number designation, but it is a single 18 sub, with two of the tops per side. I'm gonna go check it out on my next weekend off. Looking forward to it.
I finally got to hear this rig. Each side is a single 18" sub, and two tops. I was VERY impressed. Sounded much better than I was expecting.
Yeah, I was expecting decent. I was shocked at how good it sounded, and how loud it was. Not that that is needed, per se. Just that these guys weren't babying the rig, at all.

For the most part commercially built active subs are out the window due to the on board dsp... Most roll in the 100, 120 range from what I've seen... So it seems like you have to plan for a mid-bass component and (at least) tri-amp - 4 way would not be out of the question. Of upyou are planning full range.
Scale wise, I'm thinking in terms of mids and highs, 250 ' throw, 1000 people, possible/probable flown configuration for the tops. Small festival work.
Passinwind has been playing about with B&O icepower power modules. He found some italian outfit at NAMM that is a DSP shop integrating icePower and Pascal power modules with their DsP that he was impressed with.
