case for genz benz 750

I need a rack case for my genz benz 750. The problem is the fan on the side needs one inch of space for ventilation. can anyone refer me to a case

This will work well, even though it's a pretty heavy duty touring style rack. Plenty of clearance. You may want a 3 space if a tuner is to be included though.

Many racks are going to have some clearance along the side, just because of the way the rails are mounted and the ears on your amp stick out from the side of the chasis. There is about an inch free on each side of my head as it sits in an skb rack.

I have also seen plenty of people just drill holes through the rack where the fan vents. I don't think I'd do this, but it can be done.

I guess what I'm really tring to say is that there might be plenty of racks that will have the space inside that you need. If there is a way for you to check before you buy you might find yo uhave a lot of choices

I would prefer a case with the latches on the lids. IME, those little suckers can really put out some noise when you strike certain notes that cause them to vibrate just right.

Yes, this is the case I used when testing as it represented the typical touring style case.

I was unaware that SKB and Gator offered a redesign of their original line with a recessed handle (on the smaller ones) that indented so close to the side of the chassis and blocked the fan. Incidently this in not a problem with our product only. Ther are plenty of other manufacturers who use this cooling path and they will be equally affected.

The EIA rack specifications stipulate (amongst other things) the amount of clearance between the rack rails and minimum clearance spaces. IMO. this was a deviation from this spec. by the case guys.

FWIW, the 2 space SKB doesn't have the recessed handles. It has the stretchy handles on the side, so it should have the correct clearance by the way it looks, and it's definitely lighter than a wooden touring case.

Yes, I believe you are correct, the recessed handles start with the 3 space models.

The touring style racks offer much better protection to your amp, and in the event of a real nasty fall, is more likely to stay together. For a heavy amp, I have seen failures of the plastic cases where the aluminum rail has split away from the rest of the case leaving the amp flopping around inside the case and the front smashed. Those racks IMO are NOT suitable for a product such as the 750 or 1200. They would be fine for the NeoPak 3,5 (w/ rack kit) though.

how much clearance would you recommend for the GBE750? It's on the radar screen.

1 inch minimum on the right side (facing the front). Nothing blocking the fan exit on the back.

I just recieved my case and its perfect. Thank you for the link. i love this amp. Im having a hard time finding my sound. Theres just to many options.Do you have any advice . I notice that the clip limit light goeson quite a bit when i play.Should i be concerned about this. I play fairly loud but i dont push the volume past 12 oclock. The light isnt on constantly buta lot of the time.What does clip limit mean anyway. I dont know much about the technical stuff so anything you could tell me would help. First off, what is your sound? Tell me that, and I'll give you some ways to help find it on that head.

As for the clip light:
1. What cabs are you using with it?
2. What type of band are you playing in?
3. How do you have the head setup currently?
4. How do you have the EQ on your bass setup?

I play in ahard rock band. My bass eq is all the way up and i play out of an ampeg hlf410 classic.
