Just thought I'd post this in case it might help someone.

Saw one of the cassette to mp3 thingies they sell at music stores and requested it for christmas. Got it. After struggling to get the thing to work properly - I decided to return it, and later that day realized, uh DUH...

All I have to do is plug my cassette deck into CUBASE (or any other digital recorder) and record anything I want (headphone jack works fine) to convert it to digital. I have no idea why I never thought of that before, *slap*, but I figured I'd post this for anyone considering buying one of those things. Maybe I never really thought of converting my casettes to mp3s before seeing the ad for the converter. Oh well, nothing lost - Invalid Link Removed is an awesome place.

Good catch.

I use a 2 step process here even though I could use the Zoom H4 to "do it all at once"(RCA->Zoom->USB).

I got the older version of this box a few years back(before the Zoom came out). This newer one looks to have better software and more features:

The XITEL I've got dumps WAV files out via USB.
I then break those into the songs and "massage" them if needed with Goldwave. Goldwave then converts the WAV to mp3:
