Catalinbread Soft Focus

Hi all. Just joined the forum.

So, I sold my MXR Bass Chorus and am thinking about this to replace it. Anybody try one of these with a bass? I know it’s nominally a reverb but I think it could serve a similar purpose for my uses.

I’m also considering a walrus Julia, or maybe a JAM Waterfall or Ripply Fall.

I do love those shoegaze sounds and the demos for the Soft Focus show a lot of fun outside of that mode as well. I’m thinking that any chorus pedal with a dry blend knob should be more bass friendly than one without. Interested in other’s opinions…

Well just cuz nobody responded doesn’t mean I can’t have a conversation with myself!

This is a really fun pedal. It’s def not the replacement for my MXR BCD (l’ve got a Sweetwater Edition Walrus Julia on the way for that), but the blend knob def let’s you run the gammut from a nice shimmery reverb with plenty of low end definition to pure synth tones with the effect cranked all the way up. It’s def got me intrigued about the new Walrus Melee with the joystick control. Not sure what’s behind this shoegaze resurgence but gotta say I am here for it!
