Change you Pickguard color for free!

What about picking and slapping? You know the plastic on a new pickguard? When anything hits it, it sorta checks and bubbles...same premise?

If you are constantly rubbing picks or fingers, just like your bass finish, it will eventually wear out, however my old car had vinyl racing stripes, and driving a lot of dirt roads and washing every weekend, it held up awesome!

For slap and pick I recommend 10mil, it is thicker, and will actually protect your bass' finish.

Trust me, you'll have to slap hard and long before it shows on the vinyl.

The plastic protector cover on a new PG is very low tack, so it bubbles and checks easy, vinyl is extremely sticky, and will NOT bubble if it has been properly installed

Its hard to see the silver on that pic, but the gold did look really ******* great!

True, my cam works awesome with natural light, so I will post a better pic tomorrow, that pic does no justice, there is a slight sheen (sparkle), but in no way overbearing....

Now that I have had a bit of time to appreciate both Silver and Gold, I really believe the Gold brought out some very interesting qualities, where the silver at certain angles looks like it is one piece with the control cover.

Thanks for posting this thread!

I definitely intend to try this. Maybe I can finally cover up that ugly gold on my Eden WT405. Maybe do my pg, amp and cab all matching. That would be neat.

Just to clarify can I buy this vinyl at Home Depot or some hardware store? I dont think I've seen it before.

No to home depot, the only place I've ever known to get it is through Sign Shops, or Graphic Supply Stores, and Distributors....(Sign Shops are everywhere these days).

You can also order smaller pieces through the distributors.

*if you call and say you are thinking about opeining a sign shop (little white lie), they may even send you some free samples.
