Double Bass Changes in Full Circle Pickup

Jesse, maybe, but I think it's something else.
Things like that can happen if the soundpost is too close to the bridge.
This doesn't neccessarily mean your soundpost needs to be reset, it also can mean that your bridge leg has moved (probably by bumping against it unrecognized by you or someone else, like when someone knocks against your bass inside or outside of the bag).

I've totally had funny issues like that with a full circle.. but here is my quick story..

I took my bass to a few different luthiers.. they all did work on the bridge..

after one luthier worked on the bridge, I noticed the next gig, that all the sudden My wheels had to be in a completely different position which I never used to have before to get the sound I wanted..and it wasn't the height I wanted for my action.. (it was actually too low!) but that is where it sounded the best..

what is odd, is that after the luthier worked on the bridge, the bottom two low strings lost volume.. they just died out completely really fast ... so what did I do?

I moved the wheels 90 degree turn.. and then the bass came back. but still seemed funny.. as now the Treble side strings seemed thinner...

Meanwhile I get home and try the bass on my own amps/speakers at home.. and it seems like it was gone... it totally blows my mind.. but I seem to be ok..

I should have recorded it so you can hear it.. it was sooo odd.. not having any bass with your low strings.. and then turning the full circle and the bass comes back.. but the action is soooo low when that happens..

The FC definitely has its gremlins. Most pickups do. It's been my experience that when the bass feels and sounds best acoustically, the FC doesn't reproduce as well. If I tweak my setup, I can get the pickup to amplify great, where everything is clean and balanced, but the actual acoustic tone leaves something to be desired. Since I'm plugged in for 99% of gigs, the FC setup wins.

Hopefully you can hear the difference after I turn the wheel on the low strings..
