Well i've been gassing for a long time for some effects. Although I have a bigmuff, boss bass chorus, and ts9; I've been need ing some other effects. Mainly delay, flanger, and some pitch shifting. A good friend of mine is going to lend me his old Boss gt-5 multi efx. I know, I know, a guitar multi fx; buts it will be free for a while and help subside my gas. And I won't be using it as eq/preamp...just mainly effects. Anyways I've played on it and everything works, but one of the input jacks is shot. You have to wrap the cord around the unit, and be very gentle. So how hard would it be to change the jack, or should I just take it to a local guitar shop?

changing/fixing an input jack

Usually if you can get easy access to the jack, it's an easy fix. The only time it's a pain is when you have to remove a million different-sized screws and unmount the pots in order to pull out the circuitboard in order to get access to the jack. IME it's always a three minute job or a three hour job, nothing in between.
