Charles Berthoud YouTube Track

His chop-show YouTube videos often contain inspiring beautiful music.

I think he’s the real deal.
Someone on here was attacking him saying he wasn't a "real pro bassist" because he makes and posts youtube videos from his bedroom.

Well, he's making more money doing that than most of us are doing whatever it is we do, so yeah, to me, that's "pro-level". And he does play out / gig from time to do, very tasteful player...

I like his sense of humor too. Some of his videos are pretty funny. I like the one where the “jazz guy” only starts liking a performance when he starts adding “wrong” notes.
When he starts wearing the wig and basically doing slapstick, that's too far for me lol.

Agreed, he's certaily doing something right with almost 2 million subscribers. He's a total beast on the bass guitar, and he has a very likeable personality, and sense of humour.

Berthoud was a student of the late Jim Stinnett, and this became very apparent in one video in which he talked about his practice routine. It's very similar to the routines in Stinnetts's books.

To be honest at the end of the day, I think it’s your ability that makes you a pro bassist, which he has in spades……

This guy’s a musical prodigy:

Yeah, he is unreal. I think he started off as a pianist and found that medium limiting and switched to bass. And he makes it look so easy. I am tempted to buy his recent course being pushed on social media...reasonable price and might inspire some practice and ideas.
Right-I just bought the 10-Lessons/$60. Good luck, my friend.
