Hoping somebody is familiar with the subject. I bought a very cheap wah on ebay a few years ago. So cheap that I could tell it was actually unusable just by looking at the design and not even plugging it in: the bump stops actually prevented the footpedal from pivoting far enough to toggle the bypass footswitch on/off. I just packed it away, but now I think I'd like to put some elbow grease in and make it work.
The 1st problem is the aforementioned one, which I will have to fix by either or both shaving down the bump stops or adding some material to the bottom of the footpedal to activate the bypass switch.
The 2nd is that some kind of thick transparent lubricant that was on the plastic gears appears to have dried enough that it's impeding the footpedal from moving evenly.
If this sounds familiar or has been discussed before, I would appreciate some tips. Thanks.
