cheap fretless PJ

I bought my 2000 fretless Fender (not Squier) MIM Jazz bass for $200, in perfect condition... since then I've added copper tape for improved shielding ($13) and some great strings. Now it's beautiful, easy and cheap (like a perfect date lol! :D )

Sounds awesome and plays great... I see Fender MIM fretless J basses go for between $200-$250 here in Chicago on craigslist.

Next, I'm going to add a chrome Badass II bridge and a pearloid pickguard to finish it off - all well under $300 when I'm done.

I found a decent bass. In my case a 70's P bass. Order a new fretless bass neck with the wood, fretboard etc that you like. I got mine from Invalid Link Removed [ I don't even make a dime for that endorsement ]

Then find a pick up set that you might like to fit in. There is enuf help on this forum to help you router and wire anything you want.

Good luck and have fun making your custom bass:bassist:

I have one of these

it's a Vintage V940FL and I love mine to bits.
It cost me 300 euro. I don't know if that counts as cheap.
300 quid isn't the kind of money I would drop without thinking but it certainly is on the affordable end of NEW guitars.
Keep looking on second-hand listings.
