Cheap strings by accident.

They're regular, middle-of-the-road strings. Not bad. Not great. Sounds like a good deal if they're not counterfeit.
I like their Stingray alot, their prodigy picks are superb, but not so much their strings. You get what you pay for, in most cases(minus the DR and Magma strings, which are cheap as chips) Been using the Italian Dogal carbonsteel rounds---not cheap, but man, they last a few, few spells and moons and sound unreal.

AliExpress has counterfeits for ~ $7. If you don't know the seller, don't judge Slinkys by this batch. I've not seen the counterfeits in person, so I don't know how you tell the difference.
Agreed, there is a better than 50/50 chance that the counterfeits are better than originals.
If they are actually EB strings you will know in a couple of days as they will be completely dead.
LaBella flats, been using them for 30 years. I did break one about 20 years ago, at the bridge on my MIJ Fretless. I think the core might have twisted. Went through a couple of sets of Fender Flats on that same bass without a problem they just sort of gave out and then I went back to La Bella's on that bass after about 5 or 6 years of running Fender Flats.
I've used the Slinkys in the past but my favorite rounds are DR Pure Blues.

EB regular slinky’s is all I use now. Sound great on my EBMM and my sterling ray4. They don’t break the bank so I can change as needed
I’m in a DR era now, but I’ve used many packs of Slinkys. Still one of my top picks for my electric guitars.
EB slinkys are probably the most under-rated round wound strings. They are great! Good tone, even tone, good longetivity, and you got a great deal.
Well, I've never owned a 5-er (don't plan to, either), but I've used EB Slinky's for years. I used to put them on a new-to-me bass, until I figured out what strings it was going to wear permanently. But, since all but one of my basses wound up wearing flats or tapes, and I bought the last bass I'm going to buy, last month (with flats already on it)? I don't use Slinky's any more, but I never regretted using them when I did...
^THIS^ pretty much. I'd never use that particular set, unless I was going to try stringing a bass BEAD again - with the 4 heavy strings. But, since that's been an exercise in futility - for me - the previous 3 times I've done it? Don't think I'm gonna try it again...
But, yes; they're perfectly good, decent strings. That you can find in any decent music store, for not a whole lot of $$. Enjoy them...
