cheapest amp youve ever actually liked?

I play an SWR LA-15 I bought for $65. Great for upright and Fender Bass in small rooms where being loud is not mandatory.

I just bought a Genz Benz Neo-Pak 3.5 Amplifier for $350 from a TBer and have yet to receive it, but it seems like a good, light amp head for low cost.

My best CL (bay area) buy ever: A mint condition Polytone Megabrute for $50. The only thing wrong with it was the fuse terminal was mangled. $5 later I had a killer sounding 100 Watt Jazz guitar amp.

I use a Crate BT-350 ..... didn't pay very much for it, as it had issues, spend $80 with a local tech to resolder a bunch of connections ( this was a known issue ) haven't had a problem with it for years , sounds good with all my cabinets from small to big ....currently using it with my Aquilar GS210

I'm lovin my (new to me) 1980 vintage Musicman HD150 combination guitar and bass amp hybrid head. The pre is SS and the power section is packed with tubes. Take pedals exceptionally well. Puts out 150watts into 4 ohms and has a power cut switch that brings the output to 75 watts for those times I want to dig into the guitar with tons of distortion at reasonable volumes. The bass side of the amp is very Fenderish sounding and the guitar side of the amp easlily goes from twin reverb tones to marshall halfstack tones. Paid $350 for it a couple of months ago and still looking for the perfect cab match, right now its sitting on top of a Berg HT322 but I'm thinking a 410 of some sort would really get this thing thumpin. Anyone else with experience on these let me know what cab worked best for you.

My old Peavey Minx from the 80's. It was a great sounding practice amp that I had many jams with around the campfire under battery power. 12V car boost battery with inverter.

I upgraded to my SWR Baby Baby Blue and have always missed the sound of the MINX. It wasn't hi-fi like the SWR but it had a sweet tone.

Behringer BX1200 on clearance several years ago, cost me $179

I had a GK Backline 600 for a while as a backup. My other amp went into the shop so I did end up gigging it the whole summer of 2007. Frankly, it was entirely competent. Sounded great, not too heavy, $299 brand new.

The guys in the band told me they liked it better than the Ashdown MK500 I had at the time.

On the other hand, my first amp ever was a Peavey Basic 40 in 1984. Not only did it sound terrible, but somehow it weighed as much as a small car. Its sequel was a Carvin Pro Bass 100 I bought in the 90s, which also sounds terrible but only weighs as much as a motorcycle.

Used tube amps were a lot cheaper back then. I got the B15N cheap, because "The only reason we have one of those here is so people can hear how much better the new Ampeg transistor amps sound." Seriously, that is what the salesman told me. He claimed someone traded it in for one of the new ones.

Salesmen are funny! Out of all the amps MTI made, nobody remembers anything but the SVT, and this salesman tried to tell you that the SS amps were better? HAHAHA!!! You win, my friend!
