Cheapest trigger for cheesy lights?

What's the easiest cheapest way to trigger lighting off your bass thump? I'm thinking rope lights, or a light inside my cab that makes it look like there's a fire inside when you look at the port, etc.. Yeah, cheesy visuals.

Not sure it's what you're after, but..

Clip-on flood lights with colored bulbs, each controlled by its own Christmas tree on/off stomp button. Maybe even double up lights for each button. Attach buttons to board. Get like 4 different colors and there ya go.

Not quite - wanting something that does its own thing in some kind of rhythmic relationship with the music, or maybe randomly.
