Cheer up

depression-weirdos-cheer-up.jpg

What if it's the guy in the yellow suit who is depressed, and the guy on the bench is making a farting noise by blowing into his hand in an attempt to cheer yellowguy up?

WHY Y'ALL GOTTA JUDGE BOOKS BY THEIR COVERS?!?

Depressed people rarely carry buckets lest, in their depressive mood, they accidentally kick it.

Thanks my friends I needed this, keep them coming if you want.
Some days are harder than others. I have been reading about the wife of the suspected Boston Bomber, how her husband controlled her etc, etc. I have been dealing with a similair situation. I found out this morning that they are moving away from all her friends an family. There is nothing I can do but I know it is not good, plus there is a toddler involved.
I can always count on the smart alecs around here to cheer me up and I appreciate it.

Feeling down today so I am reviving this thread.
I am human and things get to me some times, just one of those days. Decided to take mass transit instead of riding my bike this morning. That was a mistake. Delays again, something about a power line down. This has been happening more and more on our subway system (BART). Waited half an hour until the trains starting arriving. Watched people get ugly pushing and shoving their way on to the trains. I let a few trains go by until one came that wasn't packed.
Got off the train and stepped around the garbage to head upstairs by the funky piece of wood that has covered the broken glass panel for the last several months. Got upstairs and people and squeezed my way into the aggressive crowd filing up the single stairwell, avoided the handrails that are covered with bird crap. The escalator has been down for a week now. It was just fixed about two weeks ago after it was down for about a month. The darn thing is broken more often that it is fixed. Seems like our filthy mass transit system is falling about.
Upstairs there were the usual folks asking for money. When I talk to them it seems like they have lost all hope. Some of them are enslaved to their addictions.
Got to work and another system I rely on is down and the blame game is in full force.
Just one of those days, no need to try and cheer me up I will get through this.
Sometimes it seems a like a few people hold me in high esteem around here, not sure how to respond to that. Want you know that I have my struggles to.
That, and I try and avoid using too many pronouns. :)

Hang in there, man. This work day will come to a close. Go home and hug the wife. Take a walk. We all have those days in a funk. Your deep perspective combined with pernicious optimism will be back in the morning.

I have days like that, and I used to go into this mode where I had to cheer myself up.
Not so much anymore. I accept that I'm going to have days where things don't go my way. Rather than expend energy trying to cheer up, I'll just let it go and start planning for a better tomorrow, or maybe even later that day.
