Hey guys!

I'm new here so have to introduce myself a bit before going wild elsewhere.

I'm a 34 years old French self-taught Bass player, located couple of miles from Paris.
I've been playing the Bass for almost two years, simply wish I knew earlier how awesome Bass is.
Actually practiced for years without knowing it while listening to Music by tapping with two fingers on my driving wheel or anywhere I could, following the Drums part.
Never had to bother with my right hand technique, left one was a different story...

Just woke up a morning with the urge to play Bass and went right away to the store and get me a Squier Affinity starter pack.
Couple of months later, as I was sure to play the Bass for a while, took out a loan to buy a Fender Steve Harris, and boy, what a blast!
Having small hands, vintage neck and heavy gauge strings aren't what you're looking for but as I said, I'm self-taught...
Playing much later a Jazz Bass with standard gauge was a shock!

I'm now playing with two bands and enjoying every minute I spend with this wonderful instrument.

Welcome to the forums! That's an awesome story. It's better to start late than never, and it seems like you're definitely getting to experience the excitement of being a bass player! In fact, there are stories here pretty frequently about people picking up bass at 50, 60, 70, and even older than that.

Anyway, enjoy your stay and prepare to learn more than you ever knew was possible about bass (and a whole bunch of other miscellaneous stuff, too).
