Chi-Sonic Pickups

I have a Lakland 3TBS hollow body bass with Chi-Sonic pickups , I love them they have a very deep smooth sound.

I have the neo single coils on my lakland decade, its my favorite bass now, however, I did move the neck pickup to the jazz neck location. Sounds like a P there. And the bridge pickup tone is thicker than a jazz, which is fine with me. I was going to get the alnico set, but decided it was not worth the investment vs. gains. How much better/different could they sound?

Love this 55-02 with series-parallel switch and passive tone control. Slap tone is not its forte, which is fine with me. Just recently I modded a 44-01 with the black candy bar single coil Chi Sonics. Love them, too. Full range like the HB version with the addition of more growl, slap, and harmonics. In general, Chi's have a sustain and smooth top end that opens up the whole fretboard in a balanced way.

I have the same bass. I think the pickups are great. For a hollow body, it is a really versatile model tonally. It can sound great with the treble dialed back and flats to rounds through an overdriven amp. I am really happy with the pickups.

Earlier this year I bought a new Lakland J-Sonic 5er with the single-coil versions, I really love the pickups. I'm kind of jonesing for a 5-string with two humbucking Chi Sonics, not sure what body shape yet. I briefly owned a USA Decade and regret selling it, but just didn't play the 4-string enough.

Asking for some help...
I just bought a Lakland Hollowbody 30, and this is my first experience with Chi-sonic pickups.
The pickups, especially the bridge pickup, rattle when I pluck a string.
They feel loose. I can move them side to side (parallel to the bridge), and I can rock them forward and back. Is this normal?
If a regular P-pickup had this problem, I'd add more foam below it.
How are Chi-sonics mounted?

I have a Skyline Hollowbody with the Chi Sonic humbuckers (about 10 years old now), and the pickups are very stable. No movement, rattling, etc.

I posted a few days ago that I had rattling pickups on my new Lakland Hollowbody 30. I called Lakland and they sent me some neoprene(?) tubes to replace the springs. I installed the tubes and now all is quiet.

Now that I've removed and reinstalled the pickups, I set the heights to what I measured before I removed them.
The Lakland websites has specs on their website for Chi-Sonics, which are lower than I set them, and I'm satisfied with the sound.

I'm curious: have any of you found Chi-Sonic heights that particularly please you?
