I gotta say it's pretty dumb of these scammers/hackers to attack a site based in Texas, the most heavily-armed state in the country, according to Dave Barry.

They attack two other sites that I'm on the staff of..... One is an automotive technician site based in Detroit and the other one is a Camaro site based in Georgia.

Would that not just make more work clearing reports? I would have thought one report for each new spam account would see the whole account and all the threads deleted in one hit.

If the posts are all from the same username (usually the case in these mass spam assaults), then we ban the spamming user and the whole lot go down. If they're made under separate usernames we have to block each ID separately.

Actually it's both Chinese and Korean. I don't know where they come from.

Get rid of them by clicking on the user name and then hitting ignore. Refresh the page and they are gone. But make sure you report them to the mods before you do that so that they can get rid of the offender and delete their posts.

I've seen the same thing on other forums. Hats off to TB for lightning moderation -- I've rarely seen these posts stay up for more than few minutes.

They are persistent, and keep creating new userid's. We hit them as fast as we can.
