Choice of Mixer

Hi all,

The last couple months I have been renting an Invalid Link Removed for my bands jam space. We have decided that we should all chip in and buy one of our own as it is proving to be a useful tool for us.

Currently we run a couple mics and an ipod into the mixer and out to a couple little peavey guitar amps. I am hoping to mic the bass drum soon as well.

This setup is just for practice so nothing extravagant is needed but I'm not sure what is best for us.

The Alto S-12 can be bought as Long & McQuade for $225 CDN but that seems steep to me for that unit.

Can anyone suggest a good unit for $200 or less? Is the Alto worth it?

Hey JeffC. If it is just for practice, you could probably do much better with one of the Behringer mixers. I've seen them up to 16 channels with built-in effects for less than 180.00 US

I'm not a huge Behringer fan, but when road toughness and extremely high quality is not an issue I always look hard at their stuff.

Thanks JKT. I was looking at the Behringer stuff. Like I said I don't need anything fancy as it's just gonna get beat on.

I just found the Behringer Eurorack MX 802A Mixer for $100 on my local craigslist. Looks like I have a winner!
