I play the Fender 9050CL set on a couple basses and about to try them on a third I'm building. They are brighter than Daddario half rounds to me, but I like the flat feel.

I had a lot of different flats on my MIA P (GHS, Chromes, LaBella, Thomastik) and then tried Fender. At first 9050ML - a bit too strong - then 9050L. They are perfect, soundwise, qualitywise and pricewise. And the green silk perfectly matches the CFM/mint body!

Fender does have an ML set that is close: 50-65-85-100, but that is heavier on the lower strings than you want to go.

If Fender won't sell singles, the closest, tonally, that I have found to the Fender flats are Ernie Ball flats, and you can get a set of 45-65-80-100, or Jason can put together a set of custom singles in your preferred gauges for you.

I have found over the years of playing electric bass, that the most important gauges are the D and A strings. You might even like the 100 E string. And the G string will have significantly less tension.
