Choosing Speaker Sizes

Though, it would be nice to own Eminence drivers.

Presactly. This is not the time to waste time and money messing around with unknown cheap mystery drivers (Bugera?), or someone else's bar-blasted overslogged cabinets (I'm okay with buying amps, basses, etc used, but used speakers make me nervous).

We're talking about well-built cabinets, with top-quality drivers that are proven to perform long-term, at a reasonable price, that sound fantastic. This, and Dave will stand behind his product.

Plus he has a great website, but that's just icing Link Removed

I'm looking for a speaker cab myself for home. Nothing special but I need some accuracy for the low B. i might start a new thread for this?
However, I visited Avatar's site and find no specifications for their speakers?? No frequency response only the dimensions.

That's really no loss as concerns bass cabs, since almost every bass cab manufacturer/seller in any price range has unrealistic specs listed anyway. So different than the pro PA or studio monitor sectors.

The combo I'm using now can not faithfully reproduce the low "B". Freq. response is very important to me, especially if I can not demo it.

Sure, frequency response is important. Frequency response SPECS that are usually FAKE anyway are NOT. Sorry, but that's the way most of the bass cab industry rolls. So you either have to audition, or get trusted feedback.

Also be aware that your pre/post-gain and LF EQ habits have a lot to do with what can do what.

Been playing since 1966, I'm fairly familiar with this combo I bought in 1984, pretty much before 5 strings were widely used.
Someone's opinion on how enclosures sound is, well a personal thing. I was trying to be nice about Avatars Spec. listing, though it is suspect to me. They might have exactly what I'm looking for, hard to tell? :)

I love my set up now, peavey 15 and musicman 210. after going through about 10 different cab combinations this is what I found to be the best. And the kicker is I payed less than 400 for the pair, on seperate craigslist finds. Check the classifieds here or your local craigslist some real delas can be had on both.
