choosing strings

My fingers prefer the smooth feel of nickel vs steel therefore I would select Pure Blues.
Many slap players like a scooped tone and between the two strings mentioned High Beams might be preferred.
There are sound samples of each string on DR Strings website, play them through good headphones and you’ll hear the difference between them

String choices are a matter of personal preference. You can spend all day reading other people's opinions, but at the end of the day only you can decide what works best for you.
Make the small investment and try them both and find out for yourself.
Any string can slap. That said, I have always preferred a straightforward stainless steel roundwound when I am at a gig that this style of playing is required.
If you're broke I'd probably suggest you look at Dunlop super bright in steel and nickel. Marcus Miller endorses the steel version and he's a slap monster. Great strings that go for much cheaper than DR. But if you really want DR then any of their strings are pretty good. My personal taste has been that I like the lo riders from DR the best. I'm yet to try Fat Beams but I think I should have went with those over high beams as I like steels but not scooped out mids. Like was said you'll have to try for yourself and see what you like best.
I keep a set of HiBeams on a MM that I use to keep my slappidy chops. They are my favorite “bright round”. Close second is Dunlop Super Brights.

OK, TI Jazz Rounds! But I’d only recommend them if you can jive with the lower tension. That’s my favorite all purpose round.

You might find a cheap but good option in SIT power steel, foundations, or rock brights. Aside from them there's apex strings and dean markley that would be good strings. All those are hex core unlike the Dr round core high beams but they are all bright strings that would sound better than old worn out strings. Personally I really like dean markley blue steel. They are a little stiffer than DR high beams but they act more like nickels when they break in and I think they have lots of character. My Warwick really likes those strings. I'm not a huge slapper but I do like percussive finger plucking and I like strings that work with me when I want to dig in and be dynamic. I guess there's always Amazon for DR but watch for them selling used strings at discount. I actually am using a used set of sit power steels on a bass I got super cheap. It seems like they used them once and reboxed them. They sound really fresh nonetheless.
I feel like hi beams are the most flexy of them all with super brights and foundations right behind them. Hope you find a good deal on them!
