The Mooer Ensemble King or Bass Ensemble Queen would be my starting points for needed the classic Boss chorus tone for cheap. If I absolutely needed a chorus for my gigs, I'd get one of them. And that's even with a Southampton Utility Knife on my board, because the chorus on that just doesn't do it for me.
Boss CEB-3 is great since the crossover allows you to keep the low end unaffected and therefore more solid.
I have an Azor Chorus mini pedal that sounds like my beloved old Ibanez CS9.

I’ve used the boss ceb3 and the ehx bass clone
Both have crossover though boss is a knob with a bit more flexibility and the ehx is a switch.
I preferred the ehx. The boss was very crystal clear but the ehx just had that special analog “wet” tone to it that worked better for me.
