Chris Wolstenholme [MUSE] Rig Video

He said in that BGM interview (which also explained his rig in full detail, but i suppose kids today don't absorb any information that isn't youtubed tweeted or blended) that he doesn't like being chained to his pedalboard and as he's been doing more and more backing vocals it's just easier to get his tech to switch his pedals

I love that his setup is so incredibly complicated (Axe FX, three amps, midi switchers, etc...) and yet his sound is so relatively simple. Why people will complicate a rig this much for something like that I will never know. I also have to agree that not changing your own damn effects is pretty silly. But, to each their own.

First time I've ever heard his sound being described as simple. For the most part it's relatively complex compared to most bass sounds.

Not true. I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that Slash's tech switched his pedals in Velvet Revolver, and if I'm remembering wrong, then it was someone else, but he is in no way the first.

I was being sarcastic beyond measure- unlike some people posting in this thread, I've been outside the coffee shop! ;):D

The fact that some don't know this scares me, to be quite honest. *Insert facepalm here*

Oh. In that case you should have used this --->

The :hmm: made it look like you were worried about the future of music and effects usage.

Yeah, it was intended for effect- I figured it would come across as some uber-smarm. My bad! :D

I've seen arguments in the Amps forum about how "fake" cab backlines are, so I wanted to make sure everyone here was aware of how the real world works for big artists... ;)

In his most recent BP Mag article they said he was using 2 of the 410 Mills and 1 115, but according to the vid he's got 2x215 Mills and 1 1x15.

Whatever it was, I've never heard such clarity and thump and grind and whatever else live before him, and I was in the pit! Just an amazing mix. Why everyone can't sound like that I have no clue.

Erm, alright, so as not to create a separate thread, I'll ask here...
Since I'm a big fan, could anyone knowledgeable please break Chris's tone to the bare bones, i.e. which settings/effects are absolutely necessary? Obviously I can't afford all those amps and a tech, but I can buy some pedals, so yeah, any help is more than welcome :)

Have you done a search? There are approximately 4 billion threads on the subject.
