Christian McBride’s Open Studio Bass Courses

I just noticed this email from Open Studio and got intrigued.

I am a big fan of Christian McBride and want to get better at jazz, and while I do already have a lot on my plate to learn, I would be interested in these courses if they’re worthwhile…

I’m just curious if anyone has done these before and if they found them helpful?

I have. He is excellent in bringing his point across, but to me those lessons seemed more like a workshop than an actual course. In other words, treatment of different lessons in a given course is not as detailed/in depth as I was hoping for, but more like advice given to an already proficient player.
I am curious about their upcoming courses by Ron Carter, though...
