Christmas Present

Hey Guys and Gals!, My WHOLE Family have just told me to start looking for a new bass guitar for my Xmas Present, Ive been told i have around £1000ish To play with, Any recommendations?, The only things i need:

I Have HUGE hands
I Own a Jazz Bass
I Need it to be quite versatile but not so much that it sounds boring
I Am a Background Basses

Any Recommendations as i am going to start the elimination process

If you're lucky enough to have huge hands, you should get a five string. My hands are small, that's the only reason why I don't have one.

G&L L2000. I think this will always be my recommendation unless someone says "I want a P bass" or "I want a J bass"

That sounds contradictory.

Everyone is going to respond with their own preferred brand/model. It really won't be that helpful.

Best advice: that's a good chunk of coin to have. Go to every music store and try every bass you can and pick out the one that feels best and "speaks" to you.

Further; for the same reason I always advise against ordering something you can't touch and try first.
