Not really a christmas song per se, but it comes from one of the best xmas movies around, Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas! That song is, of course, RIVERBOTTOM NIGHTMARE BAND!

'Christmas is the time of Year' (Ray Charles)

All others are highly, highly annoying.

I agree I refuse to listen to Christmas music until the week of Christmas because there is only a few christmas songs and they are played non stop from thanksgiving until new years

one that I never get tired of is Carol of the Bells by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra

My classic rock band has played Chuck Berry's "Run Run Rudolph" in the past. It's pretty much "Johnny B. Goode" with different lyrics!

Leaning towards metal? Pick up a copy of Twisted Sister's "A Twisted Christmas". I never before realized that "We're Not Gonna Take It" is the same song as "O Come, All Ye Faithful"!!!

I've always wanted to play Christmas Songs in a band...
A personal favourite (bassline wise) is Christmas Wrapping by Waitresses.
I didn't pick up on the bassline until a few years back, and since then I can't concentrate on anything other than the bass when I listen to it- it's just so funky

My first gig with my last band was two days before Christmas. We opened with "Feliz Navidad", much to the delight of the kitchen staff. Never paid for food or drink again over the 15 or so gigs we played there.

My one countryish band always plays "Merry Christmas From the Family" - Robert Earl Keene. I've played Run Run Rudolph, Christmas Is The Time To Say I Love You, and countless renditions of "Blue Christmas." People seem to dig it when you're playing December gigs.

For all you classic rock bar and cover bands.....check out guitar shredder Gary Hoey's take on classic Christmas songs in is numerous CD's. I have been on bands that played many of his arrangements at gigs with great response. Also Rockin around the Christmas tree by Brenda Lee always works well.
