Chromes in 45-65-85-105

I just ordered a set of Chromes in 45-65-85-105. The truss rod on my SB-1 gets very sulky when adjusted, so I wanted a set with the same total tension on the neck as the 50-110 set of Roto Bass currently on it.

45-105 is such a popular set of gauges, I figure that I can't be the only person to try this combination of Chromes? I would be interested to hear how other people have found it.

My only previous experience of Chromes was the 45-60-80-105 custom set put together by FretNation. I liked the feel, but that was a couple of years back, and this bass seems happier with lots of tension (I've no idea why)

Well, this is feeling fun. Given how well-balanced the FretNation 45-60-80-105 set feel, it'll be no surprise to hear that the A and D are seeming relatively strong, but I'm enjoying their nicely commanding character. The SB-1's MFD pickup has got plenty of tone at the tone and bottom, so no danger of the sound not being balanced.

I guess the 45-60-80-105 set is still the better recommendation, but for me and this bass, all is good.
